NOTE: Early Vermont Castings stoves used a handle that threaded directly into the handle stub attached to the firebox door. This style of handle is no longer manufactured and has been replaced with the fallaway style handle. The fallaway handle is not threaded and is only inserted into the handle stub when opening and closing doors, or adjusting air settings. If you are converting from the threaded style to the fallaway handle you will also need to replace the handle stub.
